Both girls have been really into maps lately. Our youngest was flipping through an old Crate & Barrel catalog this week. She arrived at the map and asked where we live. Then needed to know where everyone else she knows lives; friends, neighbors, grandparents, etc.

Since my eldest left for LA, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Thailand for an extended honeymoon, we have had a large world map on the wall in the hall. Everybody stops at it and it provokes so many conversations and clears up an equal number of misunderstandings. I never imagined it would be so appreciated, maps are fun.
Maps are great! We had a map of our state up on our wall when we were kids & charted all our road trips on it. It was the biggest thrill of the whole adventure.
Just catching up on your photos (I'm following yours and Amanda's)- I am so, so sorry to hear about Zu's accident. Life can be so cruel. It sounds as if her resilient spirit is already on the mend. By the spring thaw, she should be ready to rumble again. I hope you all can mend as quickly- I know watching something like that unfold can really scar your heart.
Warm and fuzzy thoughts to you all.
