Today marks the beginning of my favorite season.

Autumn.

The weather here in Maine has been cooling off for a couple of weeks now and the children (and I) are excitedly feeling fall in the air. Following their lead, we have started celebrating the harvest early this year...

Picking apples.
Baking an apple pie.
Pumpkin carving.
Freshly made cider donuts.
Roasting pumpkin seeds.
Reading autumn-themed books.
Halloween decorations are slowly creeping out of the attic.
Evening walks in the crisp fall air.

My personal heaven.
