Yesterday was the first day I woke up and felt like keeping E home. I miss her. She spends the day at school and then comes home and plays with her friends until dinner time. I feel like I'm seeing her for an hour a day. Ironically it was the first day she was up, dressed, backpack in order and ready (and really wanting) to go since she started two weeks ago.
Its definitely an amazing feeling to pick her up at the end of the day and see how happy she is and what interesting things they've done all day.
The first two weeks seem to have been a flurry of play, field trips to the apple orchard, rock climbing, skate park, library & now that things are settling down and kids are getting to know each other they are doing science experiments, reading & writing, making crystals, sculpting with clay, painting, etc. Today we're off to a local agricultural fair. Yes, I'm going too, with T and my camera in tow.

What a wonderful opportunity (the school she attends). I've been unschooling my daughter for nearly ten years and *community* can be so difficult to find. We are just now finding these sorts of groups of peers for her to interact and learn with.
